Littoral Sports delegate visits Intermediate Lions in training

The regional delegate for Sports and Physical Education for the Littoral Region on Wednesday January 8 paid a surprise visit to the Intermediate Lions’s preselection training session at the Douala Bepanda annex stadium.

Mme Irene Patience Essoungou brought words of encouragement to the players as they battle to be amongst the 23 to fly the country’s flag during the African Nations Championship CHAN from April 4-25 in Cameroon.

According to the regional delegate, the nation has invested hugely in sports infrastructure and thus the opportunity the Intermediate Lions have to win the CHAN trophy with this up to date infrastructure should not be wasted.
She reminded the players of the attachment Cameroonians have with football adding that winning should be the only option they have.

“The best way for you to inaugurate these facilities and to make the hierarchy of this country happy is to win the CHAN.” she said. After watching an evaluation game organised amongst the players by the trainers, she expressed her satiafaction and assured the team of her total support and best wishes as they continue with preparations.

The delegate’s visit comes three days into the training camp during which coach Yves Clement Arroga, his assistant Emmanuel Ndumbe Bosso, Assimba Clement goalkeepers trainer, Herve Mbome in charge of physical fitness and others have been working with the players on a unique technical and tactical system with the objective of scoring as many goals as possible in every game.

The 30 players in camp will be together till the 26th of January during which they will continue to work on the best ways of winning matches before taking on Chad in a friendly on Friday January 24, 2020.
