Annette Ngo Ndom, lioness of the net

Currently playing for home based Amazones FAP club, the two times African best goal keeper is amongst the 23 lionesses that will defend the Green red yellow at the 2019 women’s world cup to begin on June 6 in France.

Annette Flore Ngo Ndom, born on June 2, 1985, is a Cameroonian professional football player who plays as a goal keeper in the women’s National football team.

Having left FC Union Nové Zámky, a Slovakian club with whom she won the 2014 Slovak Women’s Cup and was reported to have actively participated in her team’s success, Annette Ngo Ndom came back to Cameroon and continued her football career with Louves Minproff.

In 2017, she joined Amazones FAP where she has been playing till date. That same year, Annette Ngo Ndom and her team won the Cameroon football cup at the final that opposed them to Louves Minproff. The victory was equally attributed to the lioness who was captain at the time.

At the international level, she played with the country’s National football team at the 2014, 2016, and 2018 Africa cup of Nations and was crowned best goal keeper for 2014 and 2016 editions.

Out of Africa, she played with the lionesses at the 2012 London Olympics, competition that marked Cameroon’s first appearance at a major tournament as far as the women’s football is concerned.

In 2015, Annette Ngo Ndom was part of the squad that travelled to Canada for the 6th edition of the women’s world cup. Unfortunately for the girls, they quit the competition at the 8th finals.

At 34, Annette Ngo Ndom can boost of a successful football career with its ups and downs, but which have certainly inspired generations of goal keepers.
