THE U17 LIONS OF CAMEROON TRASH GIANT ESPERANCE OF TUNIS AT HOME, 1-0

Captain Evina Sony and teammates took to the green turf of the Zouiten stadium of Tunis this afternoon 18/04/23 for a crucial international friendly game against Esperance of Tunis.

The game which kicked off at three fifteen pm, saw the home team dominating with a lot of engagement and determination put in inorder to get a goal before the end of the first half. The U17 Lions were quite present and ready for this tussle.

The pressure of the host team yielded fruits as they were awarded a penalty at the 33rd mn of the game. Fortunately enough for team Cameroon, goalkeeper Lopez Abou of team Cameroon was in his good day and went stopping the penalty of Koudhai. This gesture, gave his teammates enough energy and courage to face the Tunisian side. The first half ended on a zero goal score line situation on either side.

In the second half of the game, the different coaches did some changes and brought in new key players. Coach Serge Mimpo of team Cameroon brought in two attackers, Ayuk Cosmas Tiki and Essono DIPANDA to substitute Alhadji Abakar and Atche Miguel.The two attackers changed the attacking spirit of team Cameroon. Despite the great job put in by Molo Mgoume in the midfield of Espérance of Tunis, our boys were ready for the battle..It’s worth mentioning that Molo Mgoume is a pure product of Anafoot.

The pressure of team Cameroon yielded fruits at the nineteenth minute of play with the lone goal of the game scored by Yondjo Matah.

The outstanding striker (Yondjo Matah) has played three international friendly games and scored three goals. He has scored two against Senegal and one against Esperance of Tunis.

Congratulations to team Cameroon. Team Cameroon is rolling on smoothly and surely and the target is the U17 AFCON trophy in Algeria.
