FECAFOOT medical commission mets ahead of new season

Members of the Medical Commision of the Cameroon Football Federation FECAFOOT have met in session to work on proposals for the posible resumption of football activities in the country following the suspension caused by the coronavirus health crisis.

The commission met at the federation headquarters in Tsinga Yaounde on Friday July 17, 2020 chaired by the President Dr Jean Marc Ngalle Bonjo. According to the Commision lead, the meeting was at the recommendation of the Executive Committee of FECAFOOT with the objective to make suggestion for the safe return of players and officials to football action in the country.

“We are not going to play football in order to make people sick. We have to follow what the government is doing that is to keep Cameroon free of the coronavirus. Our work is guided by the recommendations of FIFA, CAF, WHO and the government for a return to sport acticities.” He said adding that the focus of their work is to ensure that players and officials are not in danger.

Dr Ngalle has indicated that the Medical Commision will have to work with over 600 professional and amateur clubs in the country implying that there is much work to do. “If we have only 30players per team we cannot play with the lives of such people. We are responsible for our actions and we must keep them fit.”
