The President of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Mr Ahmad Ahmad says the AFCON 2019 will be staged in Cameroon and that there is no plan B. The caf boss was speaking October 2 2018 after an audience with President Paul Biya.

According to Mr Ahmad Ahmad, caf has never thought of taking away the Afcon from cameroon, adding that the cameroonian enemy is coming from cameroon. He told journalists that caf is out to accompany cameroon organise a splendid and fruitful Afcon 2019. To him, it is a moment of celebrating the African youth and culture in cameroon.

In the sidelines of the 24-hour visit of the CEO of CAF to Yaounde, he also indicated that the restructuring of Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT must go on as planned, following the CAF-FIFA guidelines.

From the Unity Palace in Yaounde, where Mr Ahmad was accompanied by his first assistant, Mr Constant  Omari, the President of the Normalization Committee of FECAFOOT, Barrister Dieudonne Happi and the cameroonian goalpoacher, Samuel Fils Eto’o.

In honour of his high-profiled visit to Cameroon, Cameroon’s minister of sports and physical education, Mr pierre  ismael  bidoung  mpkwatt offered a state dinner to the caf boss at the Yaounde hilton hotel.
