U23 Lions in vital AFCON spot search
The U-23 lions have all to play for to book a seat in the finals of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations to hold in Egypt this November as they face Tunisia in Tunis after a 1-0 win in Cameroon last September 6.
The U23 Lions left Cameroon just immediately after the important 1-0 win against the baby Carthage Eaglets which coach Rigobert Song expressed satisfaction with promising a similar result during the return fixture Tuesday September 10. Cameroon did not conced a goal at home! The more reason the coach remains very optimistic.
The baby Lions have trained in Tunis with captain Oum Gwet Samuel maintaining that they “have all it takes to win” and be the first first generation of Cameroon footballers to represent the country at the maiden football redez vous.
The captain is expected to run things in the midfield with his teammates expected to transform all available opportunities into goals this time around.
Omossola Simon who kept a clean sheet during the away game with outstanding saves to his credit will be expected to achieve the same results in Tunisia.
The Cameroon Football Federation FECAFOOT is upbeat about the fixture that is entirely in the hands of the golden generation of Cameroon footballers with longest serving senior national team captain Rigobert Song as Coach and Raymond Kala record holding defender as team manager.
