Six Intermediate Lions leave camp for club assignment

Six players currently shortlisted for the Intermediate Lions of Cameroon have left camp for duty with their club. The players all from Cotonsport of Garoua left camp for the North regional headquarters ahead of their return CAF confederation cup fixture against Zambian top tier side Green Eagles.

Team captain and lone goal scorer for Cameroon during the lions most recent international match against Uganda Banga B. Salomon heads to Garoua togther with co- defenders Etame Ngombe and Hassana Mohammadou, goalkeeper Narcisse Nlend, midfield duo Felix Oukine and Thierry Tcheunte.

The midfield pair scored twice for Cotonsport during the away leg game on December 23, 2020 that gave the Cameroon side a 2-0 lead on aggregate ahead of the Tuesday January 5, 2021 fixture at the Roumde Adjia stadium.

Four of the six but for Nlend and Hassana played in Cameroon’s 1-1 draw with Uganda during the opener of the four nation tournament ongoing in Yaounde on January 1, 2021.

Intermediate Lions Coach Martin Ndtoungou Mpile will have to constitute a nearly new battalion to face the Menas of Niger in their second game of the tournament scheduled for Monday January 4, 2021.

The tournament is a builder to the African Nations Championship CHAN due to start on January 16 in Cameroon.
