Lions Coach spells out expections from preselected players

The Coach of the Intermediate Lions has spelled out his expectations from preselected players called up for the third training camp after the COVID-19 break to run from 6-16 of December 2020 at the CAF excellence center in Mbankomo. Martin Ndtoungou Mpile was speaking during a meeting with the players on Monday December 7, 2020 which officially marked the opening of the training camp.

“We are preparing a competition that Cameroon is hosting. Everyone believes Cameroon should win. There should be no room for errors.. We expect the best from you. You should be physically good to play well for 90mins. We think you can represent Cameroon but you must be are able to proof yourself because the list is still open and if we find out that you cannot represent Cameroon we will invite others.” Coach Ndtoungou stated

While announcing that three evaluation matches have been planned for the ten day camp, the lead trainer insisted that together with his collaborators they are looking for players with the right profile for the African Nations Championship CHAN.

“Places are not for sell in this team. If you are here it is because we think you can stay here. Those who merit will stay and play for the country. I have done the competition many times and I can tell when a player has the right profile. You must be discipline. It is your qualities we are looking at.” He emphasised.

The training camp is the one but last ahead of the competition build for January 16 to February 7 in Cameroon. Cameroon plays in pool A alongside Zimbabwe, Mali and Burkina Faso.
