Fans treat Intermediate Lions to a warm welcome in Brazaville
Cameroonians and fans of the Intermediate Lions have treated Team Cameroon to a warm welcome at the Brazaville International airport this Friday February 14, 2020.
The over a hundred fans who proudly wore their lions t-shirt, carrying the nation’s flag sang and danced visibly satisfied as the team checked out of the of the Maya Maya airport..
Before the fans stole the show, a delegation from the Cameroon Embassy in Congo Brazaville headed by Mr Beyene Gabriel Francois Xavier representative of the Ambassador was on hand to welcome the delegation.
Coach Yves Clement Arroga and players have expressed satisfaction with the reception describing it as a form of assurance that they are loved in Congo.
“It is a feeling of satisfaction to know that many Cameroonians here love their team. It gives us more reasons to work so as to give results. It doesn’t add pressure that much because we are here to see how well our players can apply what they have been thought. I think they are ready.”
Akono Akono and Leon Boyomo, two Intermediate Lion hopefuls who have played for two Congolese sides AS Otoh and Patronage FC respectively have expressed their joy with the reception. “I am very happy with this reception especially noting that I have played here before. As you can see they are very happy to see me playing for my country and they are expected much from me. No pressure I can assure you, we are ready.” Boyomo told fecafoot-officiel.
The Intermediate Lions are in Congo for two international friendly matches against the Democratic Republic of Congo and Congo Brazaville as part of the fourth preselection training camp in preparation for the 2020 Africa Nations Championship CHAN.
