CHAN 2020 preparations ramp up for the Intermediate Lions
The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon have effectively started the fifth training camp ahead of the less than one month due African Nations championship CHAN 2020.
The Lions under the supervision of Coach Yves Clement Arroga and his collaborators have been in camp since Monday March 9, 2020 in Yaounde.
According to the gaffer, the players in camp are highly spirited. “All the players are aware that the team is doing final touches and everyone is mentally ready knowing that we want the best from them.”
The coach has told fecafoot-officiel.com that the focus of this camp is to maintain the team Cameroon model of play and to fine tune scoring abilities.
“We will have to maximise work on the attack so we can score goals because when we look at previous preparations, we realise that we scored few goals and looking at our analyses which indicate over 450 successful passes during the matches, we have to ensure we finish the actions.” He said
The coach has maintained that he will make public his list at the right time though having in mind some good potential players already.
Initially scheduled for Bafoussam, coach Yves Clement Arroga says though the camp is now taking place in Yaounde, him and his team will have to adapt to the change.
The group in camp is made up of six players who have attended all five preselection gatherings, eight coming for the fourth time, three for the third, nine for the second and 4 for the first time.
Cameroon is due to play in pool A against Zimbabwe, Mali and Burkina Faso. Yves Clement Arroga has described them as good sides that will need to be treated separately with respect.
