CHAN 2020 preparation: Cameroon safely home ahead of Rwanda Friendly
The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon have arrived the nation’s capital ahead of their international friendly with the Republic of Rwanda build for Monday February 24 at the Ahmadou AHIDJO stadium in Yaounde.
The Lions touched down at the Douala international at about 2pm to a warm welcome by fans and officials of the Cameroon Football Federation FECAFOOT headed by Mme Celine Eko President of the Women’s Football League.
The Intermediate Lions will then have a short launch break before taking off for Yaounde where they will arrive in the early hours of the evening.
Coach Yves Clement Arroga has described their stay in the Republic of Congo as a worthwhile venture. During their one week stay, they played two international friendlies winning one against the Democratic Republic of Congo 0-1 and sharing spoils with the Republic of Congo 0-0.
The friendly against the Republic of Rwanda is the fourth international friendly with the first against the Republic of Chad before the two in Congo. It is the second at home where the team under construction has played mostly local championships sides.
The friendly will end the fourth preselection training camp expected to make way for the publication of the final shortlist of players to represent the country at the CHAN 2020 due for April.
