CHAN 2020: FECAFOOT President visits lions

FECAFOOT President Seidou Mbombo Njoya has visited players preselected for the Intermediate Lions at the CAF excellence center in Mbankomo. The President said the Monday September 28, 2020 visit was to assure the team of the federation’s readiness to accompany them as they prepare for the African Nations championship CHAN to be staged in Cameroon early next year.

After watching a good part of the training, the President appreciated the players for their commitment. This commitment he added, the players must be very displine considering that their call to the national team from amongst millions of players in the country should be considered as an honour as well as an opportunity to serve the nation.

While explaining that the CHAN competition was created by the Africa Football Confederation CAF to valourise home based players, the President told the players that “though our senior team is mostly made up of professionals who play abroad, you are the true reflection of our football and that is how our football and that of other African countries is valued. You must now know that you are the true Ambassadors of our local championships.”

The technical staff of the team headed by Coach Yves Clement Arroga A has appreciated the efforts of the federation in providing them with the right conditions for preparation. They used the debrief with the President to request some improvement. The FA President has promised to work on areas that need improvement before the next camp to ensure the team has the best preparation possible ahead of the football event early next year. From the field , the president visited the restaurant and was briefed by the team’s nutritionsist on feeding arrangements.
