CHAN 2020: Cameroon begins training ahead of Congo Friendly on Thursday

After a brilliant 1-0 win against the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday February 16, the Intermediate Lions of Cameroon Monday afternoon resumed training ahead of another friendly on Thursday February 20 against their host: the Republic of Congo.

While at the Unity stadium in the Concord Sports complex in Kintele, Coach Yves Clement Arroga and his assistant Emmanuel Ndumbe Bosso as well as deputy trainer in charge of physical fitness Herve Mbome took turns to examine the previous day’s fixture making remarks on areas that need to be improved upon.

According to the trainers, the players should not be carried away by the victory because their performance was not the best as expected. From the attackers to the midfielders then the defenders, every compartment had a fair share of a critique of performance by the coaches.

At the end of the performance evaluation session, the group was divided into two;one composed of those who participated in the game against the DR Congo and the other group of those who did not.

While those who played concentrated on light work and short ball management exercises intended for recovery, those who did not had a full training session with the Fitness trainer. They engaged athletic activities involving ball posession, control and distribution.

After the training, the Team return to their base in Elonda, where together they watched the draw for the Africa Nations Championship CHAN due for April in Cameroon.

The team will train once on Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of Thursday encounter with home side; the Republic of Congo at the Unity Stadium in Kintele.
