Cameroon’s Intermediate Lions win against DRC

The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon have beaten the Democratic Republic of Congo 1-0 in first of two international friendly matches programmed in the Republic of Congo this week.

The home based Lions under Coach Yves Clement Arroga walked over the young leopards of the DR Congo Sunday February 16, 2020 at the Unity stadium in the Concord Sports complex in Kintele thanks to a surgically precise finished by Beo Bato Valentin at the 62nd minute.

The DR Congo Intermediate Lions under TP Mazemba trainer Pamphile Mihayo fought hard to get a goal infront of an impressive supporting crowd but failed. The trainer who has been in charge for just two weeks has appreciated the quality of players in his team expressing hope that before the Africa Nations Championship CHAN begins in April in Cameroon, DRC will be ready.

On his part, the match winning Coach Yves Clement Arroga has maintained that his interest is not the result but the accesment of the level of his players as he negotiate his last bend towards producing the final list of players for Cameroon for the CHAN. He however notes “if results come especially a victory like today we have to celebrate.” He said during the post match press conference.

Cameroon plays against the Republic of Congo on Thursday in another friendly at the same stadium.
