FECAFOOT President ensures return of Sao Tome U17 team

The President of the Cameroon Football Federation FECAFOOT Seidou Mbombo Njoya has waved good bye to the U-17 football team of Sao Tome and Principe at the Yaounde International airport.

The President accompanied by the Coordinator of National football teams of Cameroon Tchato Bill where at the airport to finalise arrangements they have made in over a week to ensure the team that was in Cameroon to face their Cameroonian counter parts in a Women’s FIFA U-17 WORLD CUP qualifiers that ended 6-0 in favour of the home side return home safe.

Seidou Mbombo Njoya who accompanied his guests till the last airpot control post expressed his satisfaction saying “I feel very comfortable now that these U-17 girls team of Sao Tome are in the plane and going back home. It was a serious challenge most especially because they are teenagers and surely their families were worried.”

He has expressed gratitude to the world’s football governing body FIFA and the Confederation of African Football CAF for assisting in making sure the girl’s stay and departure from Cameroon was hitch free.

Luis Miguel D Alva Vice President of the Sao Tome Football Federation has expressed his gratitude to Cameroon authorities for accompanying them during their extended stay in Cameroon as a result of boarder closures caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.
