Tokyo 2020: Lionesses to face Ivory Coast in Fourth round qualification

The Indomitable Lionesses will face the Elephants of Ivory Coast in the fourth round qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Cameroon clinched a fourth round ticket after eleiminatimg the DR Congo on 3-2 aggregate.

Despite two goals by DR Congo’s Diakiese 11′ and Yves 42′ at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa Tuesday October 8, Nchout Njoya Ajara’s 82′ goal was sufficient to give Cameroon a 3-2 win on aggregate following the first leg 2-0 win in Yaounde last October 4.

The qualification thus puts the Lionesses heads-on against the Ivorian Women’s team that ousted the Super falcons of Nigeria during the third round.

The first leg fixture for the sides is expected to take place by November 4 in Ivory Coast and the second leg in Yaounde by November 12. The aggregate winner will be half way gone towards grabbing a ticket for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
