Lionesses take giant leap towards Fourth round qualification

Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses have beaten the Leopards of the Democratic Republic (DR) of Congo 2-0 in Yaounde. The win that can be described as a giant leap towards qualifying for the fourth and final round of the Women football Tournament at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games was sealed for Cameroon by two first half goals by midfielder Meyong Menene Claudine 28’and attacker Nchout Njoya Ajara 30’.

The First leg third round qualifier victory according to the Lionesses coach Alain Dguemfa is a good option for qualification mindful of the fact that his team did not concede a goal. He has however opted to be mute over either a win or defeat in DR Congo in the days ahead but maintains that the focus is qualifying for the Olympic Games and so they will work towards securing a qualification ticket.

Leopards Coach Kadiamba Kaniona Marcello has maintained his respect for the Indomitable Lionesses but not ready to give up yet. At the Post Match Press conference he assured that his team will work to get something better during the decisive meeting in the next few.

The second Leg third round qualifier is scheduled for October 8 in Kinshasha.
