Foncha Street FC strikes Etoile Filante with hat trick to top Pool C
North West flag bearers at this year’s national Inter-pool in Bertoua have taken a strong option towards grabbing one of three available tickets for the Professional League Two Championship next season. A hat trick from Brilant Awah Mukala Tanwie 7” 40” and 56” was good enough to render irrelevant a goal by Étoile Filante of Garoua’ Emmanuel Jojo 54” ending the score line at 3-1 in favour of the Bamenda team.
“We have been working very hard because we knew we had a difficult competition in front of us. We are not bordered about the next match that is coming because our objective is to take one match after the other. As we have passed this stage our focused is the next game on Saturday” Terence Chianian team captain for Foncha Street celebrates confidently.
Nick Riccardo Djipooya captain for Étoile Filante of Garoua feels disappointed but not ready to give up yet. “All the same it is a football match and we came out losers. That doesn’t mean the competition is finished. We will double our efforts and see where we went wrong so as to prepare and win the second match. It is true that our first 11 was not complete because some players were suspended including the first Goal keeper who was not there. Surely by the next match they will be with us and we will do our best.”
Coach Alioum Kada Joel of Etoile Filante will have to deploy unmatched tact if he must win against fresh comers Mercure de Bafia representatives of the center region who were on standby this Sunday. Coach Anumewa Frankline of Foncha Street on his part will simply sit and wait for the outcome of that match to decide what result to play for.
Foncha Street FC with the win now commands Pool C with 3pts +2 goals followed by beaten Etoile Filante of Garoua no point -2 goals. Mercure de Bafia tails the pool with two matches still to go.
The pool returns to action on Wednesday August 28.
