Michele Akaba, the untiring dribbler

The soccer footballer who currently plays for Amazones FAP, Yaounde is well known for her ability to go around with the ball on the field with much ease and make good passes.

Henriette Michèle Akaba Edoa, born on June 7, 1992 is a member of the Cameroon women’s national football team.

Michele Akaba began her football career with Amazone FC in her hometown in Cameroon. In spring 2008, she went to rival Lorient FC Yaounde, where she debuted as a senior player in the Ligue 2.

After two and half years, she moved to Thailand in spring 2010 to play for Bangkokthonburi SC in the Thailandish Women’s First League. After one year, she returned home, and signed with Canon Yaoundé.

After joining Louves Minproff in 2011, she travelled to Russia to play for FC Energy Voronezh in the 2011–12 UEFA Women’s Champions League. After only a half year, she returned to her country in June 2012, and joined Lorema FC girls of Yaounde.

 

From 2015 to present, Akaba signed for Trabzon İdmanocağı, Ataşehir Belediyespor, Beşiktaş J.K. and Amazones FAP Yaounde.

She played in a host of matches with Cameroon’s National team. One amongst her best moments was when she enabled Cameroon to revenge against Zimbabwe (2-0) during the last day of group matches at the 2016 AFCON played in Cameroon.

The next competition at hand is the 2019 Women World cup slated to begin on the 7th of this month.
