2019 WWC: Lionesses will tomorrow leave for Spain for last phase preparations
After beating a selection of players from the Centre Regional feminine championship 1-0 in their farewell match today, the Lionesses will tomorrow travel to Spain to finalize preparations for the 2019 Women’s World cup in France.
Football lovers came in their numbers this Tuesday afternoon at the Yaounde annex 1 Omnisports stadium to watch the Lionesses play their last warm up game ahead of the 2019 World cup.
The match took place under the watchful eyes of the Ministers of Women empowerment and the family, Marie Thérèse Abena who Ondoua gave the kick-off and, and that of Sports and Physical education, Prof Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.
Thanks to a goal net in by Christina Mpeh Bissong, the Lionesses won the match by 1-0.
After the match, they were received by Sports and Physical education boss who handed the country’s flag to the Lionesses, calling on them to defend it in France.
They will tomorrow take off for Murcia, Spain where they will continue preparing ahead of the World cup that will take place on France as from June 7, 2019.
Before then, coach Alain Djeumfa and his girls had been camping at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo since May 7.
