The U17 national team of Cameroon continued their preparations on the 29th March 2023 after a short break at the FECAFOOT Technical center at Odza.

The group has been training twice a day under the supervision of the team’s technical staff headed by Serge Mimpo in the absence of the head coach Jean Pierre Fiala Fiala.

This technical staff has been reinforced by coach Bertin Ebwelle of the U15 national team and ever since, there’s been a perfect collaboration with the team’s U17 interim coach Serge Mimpo.

During this training camp, the team has played three friendly games with the first two played at the FECAFOOT Technical center at Odza and the 3rd friendly on the 8th April 2023 at the MUNDI Sports complex.

The outcomes of these three friendly games stood as follows:

-U17 Lions 2 Vs 0 Soleil Academy.

Goal scorers: Essono (37th minute of play) and Njiaya (70th minute of play).

-U17 Lions 3 Vs 2 TAD Sports.

Goal scorers: Yondjo Matah (2nd minute of play), Arouna(13 th and 65th minutes of play).

The goals for TAD Sports were scored at the 4th and 87th minutes of play respectively.

-U17 Lions 2 Vs 1 Merci FC of Yaounde.

Goal scorers: Fi Akamba at the 23rd mn and Alhadji at the 25th mn respectively.

The 3rd friendly game was watched by a rich panel of FECAFOOT’s hierarchy who were the Coordinator of national teams Mr Benoit Angbwa, the head of Missions Mr. Maboang Kessack and the national technical director Mr. Mbarga Engelbert.

Three more friendly games have been scheduled for Tuesday 11th April 2023 Musango fc of Yaounde, Thursday 13th April 2023 Canon sportive of Yaounde reserve and Saturday 15th April 2023 Vision Foot Association Academy of Yaounde.

It’s very important to note here that FECAFOOT’s boss Samuel Eto’o Fils has left no stone unturned in giving to our U17 Lions the best of preparations.

Sincerely speaking, everything is rolling on smoothly for now as we remain fully positive towards achieving scintillating results in the upcoming U17 AFCON, ALGERIA 2023.
