NATIONAL INTERPOOLS 2022: NGV DOMINATES OLYMPIQUE, NATIONAL HOLDS HILLTOP AT DEPTH
NGV have kept their 100 percent record in group A of the 2022 National Interpools by defeating Adamawa representatives, Olympique of Meiganga 5-0 in their second game of the competition.
The West regional representatives followed up after their 2-1 opening day win against Nkufo FC with an outstanding victory in their second outing.
The Westerners waisted no time in getting their marker on the game. Charles Metogo scored the game’s first goal at the 17th minute, and afterwards, the flood gates opened.
Wilfred Nana scored his first of two goals one minute to the half hour mark. Skipper, Joseph Jacques poured more salt to the already opened wound of Olympique with his 52nd minute goal, making it 3-0 after the resumption of the second half.
Oscar Claude then, scored NGV’s fourth, before center – forward Wilfred Nana completed his double at the 86th minute, making it 5-0 for the Westerners.
For the second game at the Limbe Middle Farms stadium, Hilltop Strikers took on National FC of Garoua.
Hilltop took the lead and looked to be headed for their second three points in the tourney untill the 90th minute, when National struck to keep their Elite Two dreams alive.
Creative midfeilder Eric Ngala scored at the 16th minute for the men of coach Ngwa Remy.
Hilltop managed the game for most parts, but lack of concentration at the cusp of 90 minutes led to Barka Djibrine levelling the contest.
NGV leads group A with 6 points, closely followed by Hilltop Strikers on 4, while Nkufo FC; on standby this Friday have 3 points, and National, on two points. Olympique of Meiganga are officially out with one point recorded from 3 games.
