Christine Manie is one of the oldest and most experienced footballers of the Cameroon’s National women’s team when it comes to matches played for the country.

Manie was born on May 4, 1984 in Cameroon. Noted for her fighting spirit at the defence, she currently plays club football at AS Lorraine France as a stiff defender.

Christine Manie makes her debut in Canon of Yaounde in 2005.

She has been on the International scene with Cameroon for many years now. As the team captain of the lionesses, Manie has 7 African Cup of Nations participation under her belts, beginning from that of 2006, to that of 2018.

Reports say Manie scored an extra time winner in the 2014 AFCON semi-final against Ivory Coast, which qualified Cameroon for their first ever FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015 in Canada.

As the team captain, Manie is an organiser who leads her team mates from the back in each game, task she will have to accomplish at the ongoing FIFA world cup in France given that Cameroon is housed in a tough-looking Group E alongside Canada, Netherlands and New Zealand.
