The one time crowned African golden booth is getting her fame gradually decreasing after incurring an injury that took her away from the field for some time. Having been called by Coach Alain Djeumfa for this year’s World cup is a challenge she must meet up with to get back her popularity.

Gaelle Deborah Enganamouit was born on 9 June 1992, in Yaounde. Gaelle plays as forward for the Cameroon women’s National football team and presently has no club. Before then, she played for Spanish club Málaga CF.

The 26-year-old striker, who scored a hat-trick at the last FIFA women’s world Cup in Canada, was given a vote of confidence by Coach Alain Djeumfa despite only joining the squad a week after they went to Spain to continue training.

She has struggled with an injury over the past three years and was told to go on a specialised training programme to get fit for the 2019 World cup.

Meantime, Gaelle played the 2012 Olympics with the National team, appearing in each game as a substitute.

During the 2015 World Cup game against defending champions Japan, her unnerving drive and powerful style lead to her being known as the “Freight Train” by Canadian fans.
