Lionesses set to face DRC Leopards Thursday

The Coach of the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon says his team is set to face the Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Alain Djeumfa Defranse was speaking during a pre-match press conference Wednesday October 2, in Yaounde.

Accompanied by Micheala Abam one of the attackers of the female squad for Cameroon, Coach Djeumfa maintained that despite the suspension of two key players for Cameroon (Raissa Feudjio and Aboudi Onguene) the team is ready to face the DRC.

Abam has described the atmosphere in camp as friendly making way for good cohesion between the home based and foreign based players.

The Lionesses take on DR Congo this Thursday October 3 in Yaounde at 3:30pm in a first leg third round qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The return leg is scheduled for October 10 in Kinshasa.

Cameroon qualified for the third round after eliminating Ethiopia 1-1 on aggregate score thanks to an away goal advantage in Addis Ababa.
