“We have all it takes to win” U-23 captain tells Press

The captain of the U-23 National Football Team says his team has all it takes to beat Tunisia this Friday in Yaoundé. Oum Gwet Samuel was speaking during a pre-match press conference Thursday at the Omnisport stadium.

Though the midfielder admitted that it will be a tough game, he maintained that the technical staff has been doing a formidable job to prepare them for the game. The team captain also shared the general vision of the club which is to “be the first generation of Cameroonian footballers to represent Cameroon at U-23 Africa Nations Cup.”

Coach Rigobert Song on his part preferred to keep his strategy as a secret for Friday’s game, but assured that “Cameroonians will be happy.” He praised his team for their unity and confidence saying that the team understands him and what he is asking from them very well.

Dr Ambassa; the team’s medical officer who was also part of the press conference says there is no medical concern in the team as at the moment of the press conference. All players he noted “are in good health.”

Friday’s match against Tunisia is the first leg qualification for the maiden edition of the U-23 AFCON scheduled for Egypt this year.The second leg will be played next September 11 in Tunisia.
