Foncha Street FC Crowned Champions of North West

Last year’s Finalist, Foncha Street FC have won the 2018/2019 North West Regional Championship after beating Rainbow FC by 2 goals to zero. 

 

The much anticipated final saw two acrobatic goals at the 10th and 37th Minutes to see the boys of Coach Anumewa Franklin crowned Champions of the Region.

This is the first time Foncha Street will be representing the North West Region after previous unsuccessful spells that ended in a 2-0 defeat last year. The Colourful finals at the Unity Stadium of the University of Bamenda was presided over by the SDO of Mezam, Songa Pierre Rene- personal representative of the Governor of the North West.

Also, Vision Sports were crowned Female Champions of the North West. Individual awards were also awarded to outstanding actors at the finals with Tchie Ruben winning the best referee of the tournament, Fanka Fidelis as Best Male Assistant Referee, Chin Valentine as Best Female Referee, Bilancey Michel as Best Female Assistant referee.

Kumbo Highlanders won the Fair play prize of the tournament, with Bahaza Go-Ah of SIMAF FA of Mbengwi as Best player of the tournament. Coach Ngwa Remy of Rainbow FC saluted the officials of FECAFOOT North West for a tournament well organized and wish the representative of the Region, Foncha Street FC brings in an Elite Two ticket.

Foncha Street FC went through the tournament without a single defeat, recording two draws. One in the group stage against FC Bamenda and the at the Semi-finals of the Mini-interpools against Hilltop Strikers.

With their current run of form, Foncha Street FC seems promising moving ahead.
