U-23 Lions begin training ahead of AFCON qualifier against Tunisia

Home base players constituting part of the Under 23 National Team have started training in Yaounde ahead of their second round U23 AFCON qualifier against Tunisia. Meeting at the Military Stadium Tuesday August 20 under the supervision of their coach Rigobert Song Bahanag, the players performed a series of physical exercises and worked on ball control.
“The training session is important for home players because the national league has not started and they need to keep fit. So we have to bring them together for some time before the other professionals coming from outside join them.” Rigobert Song told FECAFOOT Press.
E. Louis Mbah from PWD Bamenda and Boum S. Auguste Junior of Panthere du Nde described the first day in camp as engaging. They explain that though the league had not started, as players they have been working and that makes them fit for the training and match ahead.
The training will keep the players in camp till September 11 during which they will play home and away matches against Tunisia U23 on September 6 and 11 respectively.
The game against Tunisia U23 comes after the cancellation of two earlier fixtures against Sierra Leone.
Cameroon qualified for the second round after beating Chad 4-1 on aggregate.
